Oswego School District Names New Transportation Supervisor

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Board of Education named a new transportation supervisor at a special meeting on Monday afternoon.

Johnnie Pierce, the district’s new transportation supervisor, will begin his duties in Oswego on March 3.

His salary will be $74,000.

Pierce is currently transportation supervisor at Genesee Valley Central School District.

He has prior experience at the Lyme Central School District and Morristown Central School District.

And, he has also worked for Laidlaw Transportation (Indian River Central School).

Pierce is a US Army veteran; stationed at Fort Drum, he was a heavy wheeled vehicle mechanic.

He received an honorable discharge.

In other action the board also approved:

  • Audit Committee members – Kathleen Allen, John Dunsmoor and Samuel Tripp.
  • Contract with Oswego AmeriCorps for Frederick Leighton Elementary School.
  • Intramural supervisors – Eight at $684 and one at $1,368 – for two eight-week programs at all elementary schools for the winter-spring time.
