OSWEGO, NY – Chris Sharkey (center) received one of 13 Oswego Traffic Safety Board  “2012 Traffic Safety Champion” medallions.

Sharkey was congratulated by Oswego City School District colleagues including Interim Director of Transportation David Deuell, Kelly Lagoe, Marene Hogan and Superintendent of  Schools William Crist.

Sharkey is a veteran bus driver.

She does the Henrietta bus safety presentation program for kindergarten students, is a trainer, holds certification as a 19A instructor and a SBDI instructor and does the 30-hour bus driver class and the 10-hour bus attendant class.

She also re-trains drivers if necessary.

Sharkey teaches students about the 1800 and early 1900 history programs.

She also travels all over the county for training and classes in other school districts.

She works with BUC students, also teaching students on safety with the training bus.

She is all about safety for students and staff.
