Oswego State Men’s Club Hockey News


The Oswego State Men’s Club hosted Mohawk Valley CC for their final home game for the 2009-2010 season and came away with a hard fought 2-1 win. This was their last game before they travel to Penn State- Berks in Reading, PA for the NECHL Championships this weekend. The Lakers will play in state rival Cortland on Friday night at 8:00.

Scoring for Oswego on Saturday were freshman Mike Renick and MVCC alumnus Mike Steinke with assists being credited to James Hollowell, Oswego’s Greg King, Tim Rinck and Brandon Clark. All three goaltenders, freshmen Matt McClellan and Evan Greenwald and sophomore Mike Reid, played in the net for Oswego as the team used this game as a tune up for the tournament.

The Lakers are a D1 ACHA team and a member of the NECHL. They are sponsored by the Student Association of Oswego State University. For updated stats , pictures and videos, visit the website at www.oswego.edu/icehockey.
