The Oswego State Mens Club Hockey Team opened up its 2010-11 season by welcoming back their alumni for the third annual alumni game. The past two alumni games have been decided by identical 7-7 scores, and although that wasn’t the case this year as the club team defeated the alumni by several goals, the alumni enjoyed coming back and playing again in the Campus Center Rink.

Scoring their first collegiate goals were freshmen Nino Burgess, D.J. Mazzoni, Blaine McClellan and Cam Herlan. Sophomores Mike Renick and Chris Covel added goals as well as senior Tony Verdon. Goaltenders Anthony Sellitti, Mike Reid, Aaron Frohm and Sal Annunziata split the netminding duties.

The Lakers open up their NECHL schedule this Friday when they travel to Binghamton and then face University of Rochester for a non- league contest.

For the first time since the team was formed, all of the players are residents of the State of New York and they are proud to represent SUNY Oswego.

The team is coached by Jay Peacock and assisted by Evan Greenwald. Bruce Zellar is the faculty advisor and the team is sponsored by the Student Association of Oswego State University. The Lakers are a D1 ACHA team and also members of the NECHL.
