The Oswego State menÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s golf team posted a two-day score of 328-306Ã¢â‚¬â€634 to finish eighth out of 12 teams at the ECAC Division III Metro/Upstate Championships at Ravenwood Golf Club in Victor, N.Y.
The Lakers improved on their ninth place standing after the first day of competition by shooting the fifth lowest team total on the second day.
Nick Sterling (Fr., Gouverneur, N.Y.) led Oswego State with a 27th place individual finish after firing 84 on Saturday and 73 on Sunday for a two-round score of 157. Dustin Lallier (Fr., Gouverneur, N.Y.) and Pat Davidow (Jr., Valhalla, N.Y.) posted scores of 158 to finish tied for 28th place, while Joe Barron (So., Chittenango, N.Y.) and Jeff Boeckl (Jr., Gaithersburg, Md.) tied for 34th place after firing 163.
St. John Fisher won the team title after recording a score of 299-284Ã¢â‚¬â€583 followed by New York University, which shot a team total of 302-293Ã¢â‚¬â€595. Nick Liebfried of NYU earned medalist honors with a 36-hole score of 72-72Ã¢â‚¬â€144.
