OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State men’s soccer team (1-5) fought back from an early deficit, but came up short in a 2-1 loss at RIT on Saturday.
The Tigers struck early, with C.J. Brunner scoring just over two minutes into the contest. John Kaddo registered an assist on the game’s first goal. RIT out-shot the Lakers 7-4 in the first half, but the Tigers could not keep Oswego State off the scoreboard.
In the 32nd minute, junior Andrew McBride (Syracuse, N.Y.) knotted the game up at one goal apiece when he put the ball into the back of the net after a scramble in front of the net.
The second half was evenly played, with the Tigers holding a slight edge in shots, 6-5, and the teams were even in corner kick opportunities with three.
In the 66th minute, the Tigers went ahead for good when Sean Coots headed home his third goal of the season off a cross from John Kaddo, who tallied his second assist of the game.
Senior Pat Breen (Palmyra, N.Y.) finished with four saves for Oswego State. Sean Conway also stopped four shots for the Tigers.
The Lakers hit the road again on Friday when they travel to play Oneonta at 4 p.m.
