BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Oswego State men’s and women’s swimming and diving squads combined to record 15 first-place finishes as each squad defeated Brockport Saturday afternoon. The Laker men won by the score of 124-99, while the Laker women won 127-106.
On the women’s side, Keriann Earl, Delia Reed, Emily Plummer, and Nikki Dean establish the tone right away by taking first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:58.73. Dean also took first in the 200 freestyle (2:00.77) and the 100 backstroke (1:02.62), while Kasey Simmons swept the 500 and 1650 freestyles with times of 5:44.12 and 19:35.94, respectively. Other first-place results included Katie Flood in the 400 IM (5:12.66) and Plummer in the 100 butterfly (1:04.12).
Like the women, Brandon Hatch, Connor Harrington, Kyle Hoag, and Andrew Minnick got the meet started strong for the Laker men by winning the 200 medley relay with a result of 1:44.82. Kyle Lounsberry was a multiple event winner as he took first in the 50 freestyle (22.79) and the 100 freestyle (49.73). Other first-place finishers included Tom Schmid in the 1650 freestyle (18:05.65), Matt Pamlayne in the 200 freestyle (1:52.69) and the 500 freestyle (5:15.06), Nick Dupree in the 100 butterfly (57.56), and Adam Weber in the 100 backstroke (58.45).
Oswego State returns to the pool for the three-day Fredonia Invitational December 3-5.
