Oswego State Volleyball Falls To SUNYIT In Straight Sets

UTICA – After dropping a tight first set, the Oswego State volleyball team fell to Utica in straight sets, 25-23, 25-10, 25-12, Tuesday night in Utica. The Lakers, who dropped to 6-18 overall, will compete in the second round of SUNYAC Pool Play at Brockport on Friday and Saturday. The Wildcats improved to 19-12 overall.

Kara Michelsen (Fr., Lake View, N.Y.) led the team statistically with 17 assists, nine digs, and three kills. Middle blockers Meaghan Puff (So., Newfane, N.Y.) and Stephanie Bailey (Fr., Scotia, N.Y.) registered seven and three kills, respectively, while they also combined for eight digs and two blocks. Katie Kietzmann (So., Amsterdam, N.Y.) added four kills and six digs in the losing effort.
