OSWEGO – Stephanie Bailey (Fr., Scotia, N.Y.) registered 12 kills and hit nearly .300 to help the Oswego State volleyball team defeat Utica, 3-1 (25-11, 19-25, 25-12, 25-13), during the second day of the Oswego State Invitational. Against the Pioneers, Bailey was the only player to reach double-digit kills on either side, as Kara Michelsen (Fr., Lake View, N.Y.) finished with 26 assists. However, the edge in the match came down to aggressive serving by Oswego State as it tallied 18 service aces. Utica was led offensively by Alyssa Nicotera’s eight kills and Kellee Furno, who recorded 22 assists and 13 digs.

Oswego State ran into a hot offense when it faced Alfred, as Paige Jensen and Chelsea Hall combined to put away 31 kills on the outside. The Lakers struggled to get their offense from the beginning as the Saxons posted 16 service aces. Puff paced the home team with seven kills followed by six from Bailey and Grice.
