Oswego State Women’s Hockey Loses To Chatham 2-0

The Oswego State women’s hockey team was unable to get on the scoreboard as it lost to Chatham 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at Campus Center Arena in Oswego. Paige Dunlap’s goal with 1:32 remaining in the second period proved to be the game-winning goal, as Dawson Bancroft-Short added an empty-net goal in the final minute. The Lakers, who dropped to 5-10-0 overall and 3-6-0 in the ECAC West standings. Chatham recorded its first league win of the season to move to 1-8-2 and 3-10-3 on the season.

The contest proved to be a battle of goaltenders between Oswego State’s Emi Williams (Jr., Anchorage, Alaska) and Chatham’s Brenn Scott. Williams compiled 31 saves, while Scott earned the shutout and her first win of the season by making 28 stops. Neither team was able to generate anything on the power play, as the Lakers went 0-for-4 with the skater advantage and the Cougars went 0-for-8.

Both teams wrap up the weekend series on Sunday at 3 p.m.
