Oswego State Wrestling Finishes Fifth At RIT Invitational

Blake Fisher (So., Seaford, N.Y.) and Eric Leusch (Sr., Rochester, N.Y.) claimed third-place finishes in the 149- and 285-pound weight classes, respectively, to help the Oswego State wrestling team claim fifth place at the RIT Invitational with 61.5 points. The Lakers had a strong showing at 149 pounds as Nick Rodgers (Jr., Owego, N.Y.) placed fifth and Mike Howard, Jr. (Sr., Oswego, N.Y.) was sixth in addition to Fisher’s showing. Notre Dame College took first place after earning 163.5 points followed by Cortland in second with 147.5 points.

Other Oswego State wrestlers to place at the ten-team invitational included Marc Collins (Jr., Farmington, N.Y.) picking up fourth place at 165 pounds, Chris Payne (So., Farmington, N.Y.) earning fifth at 141 pounds, and Rich Romeo (Jr., Lindenhurst, N.Y.) finishing sixth at 184 pounds.

The Lakers wrap up the first half of their season next Saturday at Ithaca for a dual meet beginning at 1 p.m.
