Oswego River report:
The river level has been fairly consistent over the last few days running at 3,790cfs as of this morning. Winter returned to the area over the weekend with a few inches of snow falling in Oswego. Anglers are finding a few steelhead and brown trout. Jigs and pink worms have been successful. Just a reminder that walleye season is closed and will reopen on May 7. Bullhead are active at Wright’s Landing with worms and minnows the suggested baits.

Salmon River report:
According to Whitaker’s Sport Shop & Motel:
Yesterday the majority of anglers we spoke with reported having a tough day dealing with the high winds and cold temperatures but we did speak with a couple anglers who landed a few drop backs in the upper end of the river between Altmar and Pineville.
According to the Douglaston Salmon Run:
It’s been a couple of tough days on the run. Cold, wind and snow made for difficult conditions over the weekend. We had a couple of anglers on the run each day. One reportedly hooked a steelhead on Saturday but lost it. Temperatures will improve for Wednesday and Thursday but overall it will be a cool week.
According to Fat Nancy’s Tackle Shop:
The Salmon River is running at 500 CFS. Prior to the winter weather returning the best fishing has been from the Sportsman’s Pool downstream. The best baits have been night crawlers, white egg sacs, and pink worms. The fishing continues to improve with fish starting to drop back from the hatchery.
Oneida Lake report:
The wind has made for poor fishing conditions over the last few days. Anglers were finding perch in the bays using minnows. Conditions are expected to be unsettled this week with some colder temperatures, wind along with rain and snow showers. Remember walleye season is closed until May 7.
Sandy Pond report:
Activity on the pond has been quiet. Just a reminder that walleye and northern pike seasons are closed and will reopen on May 7.
