Dr. Mary Walker at her Oswego Town home.

The topic of discussion will be Things You Did Not Know About Dr. Mary Walker in preparation of the May 12 dedication of the bronze statue of Dr. Walker, which brings down the curtain on the years of planning, fundraising and more by many members and volunteers.

It was announced recently that Dr. Sharon Harris of the University of Connecticut would be the keynote speaker at the ceremonies on May 12 along with several others.

Invitations have gone out to many officials, sponsors and especially to relatives of Dr. Walker as the day approaches.

The public is cordially invited to attend this much-anticipated event, which again, will take place on May 12 at 10 a.m. at the town hall where the statue will reside.

As most know by now Dr. Walker was a resident of Oswego Town and is the only woman to ever have been awarded a Congressional Medal of Honor.

That medal will be on display as well at the dedication ceremonies.
