Oswego Trips Buffalo State Men’s Soccer in Overtime, 2-1

BUFFALO, NY—Felipe Cavalcanti (Valatie/Ichabod Crane) chipped home the game-winning goal 2:48 into overtime as Oswego (4-6/3-1) defeated host Buffalo State (5-5-1/1-2-1), 2-1, in a SUNYAC game today at Coyer Field.

Chris Carra (Endwell/Maine-Endwell) opened the scoring for Oswego with the lone goal of the first half in the 39th minute. Zack Eastman (Lakeview/Lakeshore) evened the score with an unassisted tally in the 75th minute, but the Lakers claimed the win with Cavalcanti’s goal on a long pass from Greg Blette (Lakeview/Frontier).

The Lakers held a narrow 13-11 edge in shots. Brian Dudek (Niskayuna/Cheshire Academy) made five saves for the Bengals, and Matt Wopperer (Manlius/Fayetteville-Manlius) had one save for Oswego.

Buffalo State will welcome Cortland to Coyer Field tomorrow for another conference game at 1 p.m.
