Oswego YMCA Reindeer Run Registration Open

OSWEGO, NY –  The Oswego YMCA will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Reindeer Run, a 5k Fun Run/Walk on December 6, at 9:30 a.m.

Since its inception in 1989, this annual event has played a key role in providing a healthy addition to the Oswego community holiday lineup.

As a non-competitive fun run, participants are encouraged to exhibit their holiday cheer by dressing in their favorite festive gear.  People can run individually, as a team and new this year is the “ugliest holiday sweater” category.

Last year, the event brought more than 150 family members and friends together on a wintry Saturday morning to downtown Oswego.  Proceeds from this event go to support the Oswego YMCA programs

“This is always a fun event that we look forward to bringing to the community each year,” said Trish Levine, health and wellness director at the Oswego YMCA.

She added that the Santa is always present at the end to congratulate finishers and share some holiday cheer.

There is an entry fee for all events. Registration is available at the Oswego YMCA, 249 W. First St. or online.

Fees increase for same day registration on December 6.

The Oswego YMCA will accept in-person registration until 9:15 a.m. on race day.

Shirts in selected sizes are guaranteed to those who register before November 24 and in limited supply after.

Refreshments and awards will take place in the Oswego YMCA following the events.
