Oswego Ã¢â‚¬â€œThe Oswego YMCA is gearing up for the Tour de Loop Bike Race a 30/50 mile cycle event which takes place in Oswego and Cayuga County. The Tour de Loop is sponsored by MurdockÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s, RudyÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s, Ontario Orchards, Ontario Metal Fabricators, and the Onondaga Cycling club, RabyÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s and Eagle Beverage. The race is schedule for Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 8:30 AM. It is open to racers of any caliber, male or female age 15 and up and the start location is right out at RudyÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s.
So, if you havenÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t done so already, get your bike out and get it ready! There are two events, the expert of Ã¢â‚¬Å“AÃ¢â‚¬Â race, a 50 mile ride (Cat 4 Riders or better) and the Ã¢â‚¬Å“BÃ¢â‚¬Â or sport group a 30 mile race. Both races cross from Oswego County into Cayuga County and loop back to end at RudyÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s with refreshments, it will conclude with an awards ceremony following the race.
This course, which originates on the shores of Lake Ontario features rolling hills and sharp turns as it winds its way across the scenic upstate countryside.
The Tour de Loop is a well attended race with an upwards of 200 riders and 100 volunteers who are on the course to ensure the safety of all riders.
