What is Pelvic Health Physical Therapy?
Pelvic health physical therapy is a highly effective treatment for conditions such as urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, and other pelvic health issues. Whether you’re dealing with stress incontinence, urge incontinence, or mixed incontinence, our program offers a comprehensive, personalized approach to address the root causes of these conditions.

Pelvic floor therapy helps restore function and control by focusing on strengthening the pelvic floor muscles, improving coordination, and promoting healthy lifestyle changes.

How Pelvic Health Physical Therapy Can Help
At Oswego Health, our experienced pelvic floor therapist, Liane Brown, PT, DPT, MS,[2] will create personalized treatment plans that target each individual’s unique needs. Therapeutic techniques may include:

Muscle Strengthening: Restoring strength to the pelvic floor muscles
Coordination Improvement: Enhancing muscle coordination for better control
Lifestyle Adjustments: Modifying behaviors and habits that contribute to incontinence

The therapy process begins with an initial evaluation, customized treatments, and home exercises. Many patients notice improvements after just a few sessions, though significant progress typically requires weeks or months of consistent effort. A long-term home plan and periodic follow-up evaluations lead to lasting results.
