OSWEGO – Oswego Health is proud to announce the arrival of a cutting-edge diagnostic advancement that will significantly benefit the community. Beginning May 28, patients can access PET/CT scans at Oswego Hospital thanks to state-of-the-art Siemens Horizon PET/CT scanner.
This investment reflects Oswego Health’s long-standing commitment to providing advanced, high-quality care locally. After extensive planning, we are proud to now offer this vital diagnostic service to our community, right here, close to home.
The Siemens Horizon PET/CT scanner combines Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computed Tomography (CT) into a single, integrated system. This powerful technology provides clinicians with an in-depth view of both the structure and function of the body, enabling earlier and more accurate diagnoses.
“We are deeply committed to the health and well-being of our community,” said Dr. Wajeeh Sana, Chief Medical Officer at Oswego Health. “This new PET/CT technology allows us to offer life-saving diagnostic imaging right here at home, eliminating the need for patients to travel far for advanced care.”
What Is a PET/CT Scan?
A PET/CT scan combines two advanced imaging methods:

What Makes the Siemens Horizon PET/CT Scanner Special?
The Siemens Horizon PET/CT scanner offers several key benefits:
This advancement is part of Oswego Health’s broader mission to deliver accessible, compassionate, and technologically advanced care to the region. The addition of PET/CT services at Oswego Hospital is a major step forward in meeting that goal.
“We understand how vital it is for our community to access high-quality care close to home,” added Dr. Sana. “This investment ensures that we continue to meet our patients’ needs today and in the future.”
