OSWEGO, N.Y. — The Oswego State men’s lacrosse team wraps up its fall season with a home scrimmage against Cazenovia College and SUNY Poly at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday at Laker Turf Stadium.
Saturday’s contests are more than a final test of the semester, however, as it is also a fundraiser for the Wilmot Cancer Institute, located in Rochester.
Oswego has been doing a fall Green/Gold/Pink Game for nearly 10 years and this year marks the third time the scrimmage will be against other colleges rather than an intra-squad scrimmage.
“Now we have three teams raising money before and after the contest,” explained fourth-year head coach Drew Bezek.
The University of Rochester’s Wilmot Cancer Institute is one of New York’s largest blood and marrow transplant programs and offers clinical trials of new therapies.
Many of these options are not available anywhere else in Upstate New York. In 2015, the Wilmot Cancer Institute provided care for 4,400 patients from across New York State.
Admission to the game is free.
