The SUNY Oswego Festival Chorus invites any and all interested singers to join it for the 2008-09 season.

Rehearsals are held at 7 p.m. Mondays in Room 41 of Tyler Hall on the SUNY Oswego campus. The first two rehearsals, on Sept. 8 and 15, would be a great time for new members to come, said chorus director Kelly Hudson of SUNY Oswego’s music department.

The Festival Chorus performs mainly major choral works with orchestra and consists of Oswego community members and SUNY Oswego students, faculty and staff.

“This year’s repertoire includes the joyful ‘Mass in G’ by Franz Schubert, Gabriel Faure’s elegant ‘Cantique de Jean Racine,’ and the world premiere of a work written for the Oswego Festival Chorus: ‘Origin,’ by composer Richard Einhorn, based on the writings of Darwin’s ‘Origin of the Species,'” Hudson said.
