Pair Arrested In Connection With Thefts at College

OSWEGO, NY – An expensive laptop computer, sneakers and more than $100 in cash was reported stolen Sunday night from a room in Oneida Hall at SUNY Oswego.

On Monday evening, SUNY Oswego University Police arrested Alex Acosta, 19, of Rand Drive in Watertown, and Bryan A. Ortiz, 19, of Woodcrest Lane at Fort Drum.

They are each charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony, and fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony.

They were remanded to the Oswego County jail facility in lieu of bail in the amount of $1,000 cash or $2,500 bond.

Police said security cameras in the residence hall lobby helped police find the suspects.
