Pair Facing Felony Drug Charges

OSWEGO, NY – On Wednesday, the Oswego City Police Departments Anti-Crime Team (ACT) conducted an investigation into the illegal possession and sales of methamphetamine within the city of Oswego.

Arrangements were made through the use of an undercover police officer to purchase methamphetamine in exchange for pseudoephedrine tablets.

The following two individuals were arrested and criminally charged as follows:

Ronald R. Gibbs, 25, of 53 Hall Road, Hannibal, was charged with the following:

  • Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree – Class B Felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree, with intent to sell – Class D Felony
  • Criminal Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Material in the 1st degree – Class E Felony

Nicholas S. Bacon, 25, of 19 Waterview Road, Lot 47, Oswego, was charged with the following:

  • Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree- Class D Felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree, with intent to sell – Class D Felony
  • Criminal Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Material in the 2nd degree- Class A Misdemeanor

It is alleged that Gibbs and Bacon intended that the pseudoephedrine tablets were to be used to manufacture further methamphetamine.

All of the pseudoephedrine tablets were recovered by investigators, police said.

Also seized was approximately one gram of methamphetamine.

Gibbs and Bacon were arraigned in Oswego City Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility.

Gibbs’ bail was set at $7,500 cash / $15,000 secured bail bond.

His charges were waived to Oswego County Court.

Bacon’s bail was set at $3,000 cash / $6,000 secured bail bond.

He is due back in Oswego City Court on October 8 at 9:30 a.m.
