Palermo Pair Charged Following Attempted Theft

OSWEGO, NY – Two Palermo men tried to steal a large metal tank, deputies say.

At 3 p.m. on June 15, William M. Schell, 36, of 1016 County Route 45, Palermo,  was arrested for trespass and attempted petit larceny.

The charges stem from an investigation into an incident that occurred in the town of Palermo where he allegedly was on the victim’s property trying to steal a large metal tank.

Schell was released on appearance tickets, returnable to the Town of Palermo Court on July 12.

At the same time, Eric I. Daniels, 18, of the same address was arrested for trespass, attempted petit larceny and second-degree criminal impersonation, a class A misdemeanor, for his alleged participation in the attempted theft.

Daniels was also released on an appearance ticket, returnable to the Town of Palermo Court on July 9.

This incident remains under investigation.
