Parish Elementary School Spring Festival of the Arts

May 22 marked a special day at Parish Elementary School. It was the school’s annual Spring Festival of the Arts event to celebrate the musical and artistic talents of students in kindergarten through grade four. Under the direction of Music Teacher Michele Catania, students entertained family, friends and the community with their production of “Destination America” by Roger Emerson. The coast-to-coast tribute captured the spirit of America and musical genres rock 'n' roll, jazz, country, classic rock and more. While music was a large part of the evening’s celebration, visitors were also invited to tour the school and enjoy the vast collection of beautiful art pieces created by students in Mary Alice Flynn’s art class. One of the most popular art projects featured during the event was the collection of students’ self-portrait pieces that spanned their time at the school.
