“Pathfinder Bank has continually supported this event from the beginning. We couldn’t be more pleased with the increase this year,” said Teresa Woolson, president of VOW.

The Substance Awareness Family Education Fair will be held on April 30 at the Oswego Elks Lodge, 132 W. Fifth St.

The vice president of VOW and sponsorship chair, Karen Perwitz, introduced sponsorship levels this year of Gold, Silver and Bronze to help increase sponsorship amounts to help with this year’s event.

Pathfinder Bank is a Gold Sponsor of this year’s event.

“We are proud to support the VOW Foundation and their dedication to educating our youth on the dangers of substance abuse while providing services for those in need. The organization is a true benefit to Oswego County’s continued effort to reduce the negative impact of illegal drugs in our communities,” said Michael Quenville, vice president, business relationship manager at Pathfinder Bank in Oswego.

Again this year, there will be an Apple iPod Touch given away, along with a family four-pack of tickets to the Oswego Childrens’ Museum and a $50 restaurant gift certificate for qualifying entries.

To qualify an entry, one must visit a number of exhibits for education.

“We want to make sure everyone visits the informational displays and interact with the professionals, ” Woolson said.

Speakers are being confirmed for a well-rounded day of education, activities and fun for the whole family.

This is a free family event with something for all ages.

Plan to spend the afternoon at the fair browsing the many exhibits, learning about different types of drugs, what addiction looks like, how to talk to your family, how to help others, where to find treatment, options for treatment and support, alternative to drugs and hope for the future.

In addition, there will be games, simulations, activities, crafts, prizes and raffles.

The VOW Foundation would like to thank two new sponsor of this year’s event, Fulton Savings Bank and BioSpherix, Ltd, both at the Bronze Level.

In-Kind Sponsors include News Channel 9, Mystic Music Entertainment Services and the Oswego Elks Lodge.

Additional sponsors are anticipated.
