Paul Fountaine Scores Twice in Memorial Special at Oswego Kartway

OSWEGO, NY – Oswego Kartway returned to action on Friday following a week off due to mother nature, and it was Paul Fountaine scoring big, collecting two main events on the night.

Fountaine first drove to victory in the ever growing Clone 425 division, beating out top competitors Rick Raner and Jason Moll for the checkered flag behind the wheel of the No. 8F.

Seth Baum and Barry Goodney completed the top five on Friday.

After the Clone 425 win, Fountaine then went on to dominate the Stock 425 feature go over Nicole Carvey, Ron Abbott Sr., Andrew Hall, and Bethany Rookey.

The victories for Fountaine were his first of the season in championship competition.

Other senior main event winners included Eric Raponi (Clone Heavy), Nick Demling (Stock Light), Josh Ostrander (Clone Light), Trevor Bellinger (Clone Medium), Stephen Marshall (Champ), and Rich Jordal (Open).

Junior main event winners were Tavien Blowers (Jr. Green Clone), Madison Baum (Jr. Purple Clone), Austin Harmer (Sr. Green Clone), Alex Losurdo (Jr. Blue Clone), and Hunter Lawton (Sr. Blue Clone).

The third race of the championship season will be this Friday at the Kartway with Spring Championship titles and trophies on the line.  NYDKS guaranteed qualifying spots for Ransomville Speedway will also be awarded in select classes.

Pit gates will open for competitors beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.  Driver registration will close at 6:15 p.m. with the drivers meeting at 6:30 p.m. and hot laps to follow immediately after at approximately 6:45 p.m.

Racing will start at 7:30 p.m.

Trophy night entry fees for Kartway members will be set at $20 while non-member entry fees are $23.  Pit passes will also be available for those not in competition for just $15.

Friday night’s racing program will see heat race lineups determined by point handicap, with feature lineups starting straight up from heat race finishes.

As always spectators are welcome to come to the Kartway and enjoy the racing action. A full service concession stand is open, with limited bleacher seating. Fans are encouraged to bring their vehicle and park along the racing surface for a great view of the action. Admission for fans is only $5 per car load.

Kartway events run April through September on most Friday nights, culminating with the Fall Frenzy 200 Championships on September 12.
