Paul W. Rill, 88, of Center Pointe Dr., Baldwinsville, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2011.
Born in Phoenix, NY to his late parents, William and Myrtle (Cooke) Rill in 1922. Attended Phoenix High School. He served in the US Army as a private during WW II, Pacific, 1943-44. Paul retired in 1985 after 40 years at Crucible Steel Co., Syracuse, as a supervisor. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and lay reader, a 55 year member of Callimachus Masonic Lodge # 369, and VFW Post 5540, both in Phoenix, Disabled American Veterans, Schroeppel Historical Society, National Antique Automobile Assoc. of America, and the Oneida Lake Region ARCA.
Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Patricia (Dight) Cook Rill; his son and daughters, Douglas B. (Georgianne) Rill, Geri R. (Steve) Borg, and Patricia L. (Richard) Jandrew all of Arizona; his step-daughters and sons, Pamela C. Sivers of Baldwinsville, Priscilla C. (Anthony) Bucci of Camillus, Jeffrey (Julie) Cook of RI, and Timothy D. (Sharon) of FL; one sister, Rebecca (Richard) Walter of Mexico; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four nieces, two cousins.
Services and calling hours will be at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 904 Vine St., Liverpool, 13088. Beginning with a masonic service at 10:45 am, followed by a time to receive friends from 11 am to 12:45 pm, to conclude with a church mass at 1 pm, with the Rev. Carrie Schofield-Broadbent officiating. Burial in Phoenix Rural Cemetery 126 Chestnut St., at 4:30 pm with military honors.
