Paws Across Oswego County Plans 10th Annual Open House

On April 26, Paws Across Oswego County will be holding its 10th annual open house at Paws & Effect Inc in Oswego.

PAOC will also be celebrating its 15th year as a non-profit organization. As in the past, its event will bring together local animal rescue organizations to help spread awareness about adoption and rescue.

Other attractions for the day will include a silent auction, raffles, 50/50, the Scriba Volunteer Fire Department truck, Sunoco Fulton Ethanol plant truck, food, demonstrations, vendors, and some very special guests.

Lighthouse Lanes and Carnivore BBQ will be supplying our food selections for the day with chicken BBQ, pulled pork, hot dogs, hamburgers, and many sides being offered. There will also be a bake sale for those who wish to have desserts, too.

The raffles available this year are quite attractive, as always. PAOC will be selling tickets for a Disney Trip which includes four Park Hopper Passes and a two- night stay at the Radisson Resort donated by Disney and Radisson, A Link Log BBQ Firepit generously donated by Clearview Fireplace and Patio, a $500 Wegman’s gift card donated by Stella and the Merriam Barrett Guest House, and a two- night stay in a family suite at Great Wolf Lodge Indoor Waterpark.

Tickets are available at Paws & Effect or Dayle’s Dog Grooming for $1 each, 10 tickets for $5, or 25 tickets for $10.

The silent auction includes more than $5,000 in products generously donated by local and national businesses. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on both human and pet related baskets and gift certificates.

Paws Across Oswego County has also opened up the event for outside vendors.

There are many vendors signed up to sell items including It Works Global, Tails and Tales Publishing, Amanda Marie Designs, Ellipsis Events Inc, Jewelry in Candles, Jamberry Nails, Tastefully Simple, Thirty One Gifts, Younique Presenter, Tina Cochran, Tupperware, Game Day Bella, and Jammin with Mama Jo.

Demonstrations will be taking place throughout the day to keep guests entertained.

K10 Dog Training, Enticeing Agility, and K9 State Troop Doyle will all be showing off their abilities during the event.

Charlotte and Sawyer from the Reading for Rescue series will be hosting their Kissing and Hugging Booth and visiting with all of our guests as their human companions autograph books.

Paws Across Oswego County’s open house will be expanding its hours to 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. to accommodate all the activities of the day.

The event will be held at Paws & Effect, 2035 County Route 1, Oswego.
