VOLNEY – Because several Volney Elementary School students haven’t let any obstacle stand in the way of their success, they were recently recognized as monthly classroom role models.
Throughout the month of March, 18 students stood out to their classroom teachers, who nominated them for exhibiting perseverance.
The character education trait is something Principal Todd Terpening, and the rest of the Volney Viking teaching staff, continuously promote at the school.
The following students received Principal’s Award certificates as they were recognized for never giving up, even when their school work or a social situation was tough: Isabella Austin, Abigail Janes, Hayden Crofot, Marcus Collar, Seth Potter, Brydon Taber, Brooke Bowering, Corban Becker, Nathanael Havens, Payton Parkhurst, Brady Jacobson, Kayden Bubis, Cadence Schneider, Brayden Moshier, Justin Decker-Bennett, Marissa Lawrence, Leanna Rupert and Danielle Boyce.
Terpening also presented the monthly “On-a-Roll” certificates to students whose classroom teachers honored them for working hard toward achieving an academic, behavioral or social goal.
Honorees include: Makayla Santiago, Elijah Sixberry, Emery Everson-Loomis, Eli Timmerman, Sophia Gulliver, Brooke Hill, Carter Perras, Brayden Wright, Rory Williams, Rylan Wise, Joslyn Cantine, Rachel Acker, Dylan Rogers, Grace Kitts, William Wright, Brice Clemons, Xavier Contois, Layne Osborn, Amber Dumas and Jaya Whitehead.
