OSWEGO, NY – Pookie has no reason to love people.
She was dropped off on a country road in Hannibal at the end of January.
By the time we found her, she was scared and starving.
But as soon as she figured out that we were kind (and had food for her), it was love at first sight.
She is spayed now and up to date with her shots and totally, mind bogglingly, affectionate.
She purrs, she talks, she wants you to carry her around and if you are busy she will just follow you around adoringly.
And she promises never to jump up on your counter.
She knows how to interact with other cranky cats without irritating them and she ignores dogs.
She is mostly a “people cat” in the best possible way.
