OSWEGO, NY – Peter J. Thomas, 53, a resident of Baldwinsville, NY, passed away Monday January 6, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of Alice (Jerry) Blum of Winter haven, Fla., and the late William Thomas.
He was employed as a managing mechanical engineer for Lockheed Martin in Syracuse.
He previously worked for B.A.E. in Johnson City for 18 years.
He was a racing enthusiast. He was on the racing team for Timmy Nelson’s racecar and more recently for Joe Gosek’s racing.
Peter enjoyed woodworking and traveling.
Surviving besides his mother, are his wife, Patricia (Sivers) Thomas; four brothers, Steven (Marianne) Thomas of Sedona Ariz., David (Anne) Thomas of North Syracuse, Gregory (Kelly) Thomas of Oswego and Jeffrey Thomas of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Sandy (Brian) Neal of Concorde, NH and Kayleen Thomas of Atlanta, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Faith United Church, 12 Mark Fitzgibbons Drive, Oswego.
Calling hours will be held 3-6 p.m. Saturday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
