The school welcomed the Phoenix Community Band for their much anticipated Spring concert performance.

Under the direction of Director David Frateschi, a talented blend of nearly 70 musicians performed nine songs and featured several guest conductors including Colleen Dailey, Robert Taylor, and John Hylkema.

In recognition of the Irish holiday, the band also performed a special “Riverdance” piece with Neal Saarie serving as the Captain.

The Phoenix Community Band is in its 11th year in the Phoenix community and performs several concerts at the high school throughout the year.

James Bell, a member of the Phoenix Community Band organized a special tribute to his fellow musicians at the recent Spring concert performance. Bell compiled a presentation of ‘then and now’ pictures featuring the musicians in their youth and as adults. The tribute was projected onto the wall (as pictured) during the band’s performance of “A Childhood Remembered” by Rossano Galante. Serving as guest conductor for the performance was Robert Taylor. Bell plays the French Horn in the Phoenix Community Band.
