OSWEGO, NY – A Phoenix couple has been charged with several counts of rape.
At 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, Jeffrey S. Pitre, 38, of 42 Bridge St., Phoenix, was arrested for four counts of third-degree rape, a class E felony; two counts of third-degree criminal sex act, a class E felony; four counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor; and two counts third-degree sexual abuse, a class B misdemeanor.
The charges stem from an investigation into incidents that occurred in the months of April and May of this year at a residence in the town of Granby.
He allegedly had sexual intercourse, penis to mouth contact, finger to vagina contact and penis to hand contact with the victim being less than 17 years of age.
During the investigation, Awenha Pitre, 32, of the same address, was arrested for two counts of third-degree rape and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child for her alleged participation in sexual intercourse with the victim on two occasions in May 2012 in the town of Granby and being the lookout for other uninvolved persons.
Mr. Pitre and Ms. Pitre were arraigned in the Town of Granby Court by Hon. Judge Wells and remanded to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
They are to return to court on July 12.
