State Police allege that a Phoenix man’s argument with his wife ended with damage to a stranger’s car.

Police give this version of the alleged events:

Connie Ingoldby flagged down a passing car in the village of Phoenix. She told the driver, Charles Anthony, 63, that she and her husband had had a fight and she needed a ride back to their Bankrupt Rd. home.

Anthony did not know either of the Ingoldbys.

As they got near the Ingoldby home, Rory Ingoldby passed them at a high rate of speed.

They agreed it wasn’t safe for her to go home, so they went to the Fastrac convenience store on Rt. 264.

Rory Ingoldby got to the story not long after and tried to punch Anthony. Ingoldby got back into his car and rammed Anthony’s car on the passenger side, where Connie Ingoldby was sitting.

He hit the car five times and drove off.

Police charged Rory Ingoldby with criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, and menacing.

He was sent to jail on bail and is due in court in Schroeppel Tuesday night.
