Phone outage affecting parts of Oswego County again today is fixed

Oswego County 911 Center reports people able to call 911

Oswego – The Oswego County E-911 Communications Center reports that the telephone outage in the communities of Altmar, Lacona, Sandy Creek and Parish has been fixed and people are able to call 911 from their telephones.

Volunteer fire departments from those areas were manned from about 3 p.m. to assist people with emergencies who could not reach 911.

Oswego County E-911 Communications Center Director Michael Allen and Oswego County Fire Coordinator Don Forbes said that they appreciate the efforts of the volunteer fire departments and the 911 center staff while the outage persisted.

Oswego – The Oswego County E-911 Emergency Communications Center reports that a telephone outage is again affecting some areas in Oswego County and some people may not be able to call 911.

Fire stations in Altmar, Lacona, Sandy Creek, and Parish are being manned and other stations may be added.

People who have an emergency and cannot reach 911 by phone should go to their local fire station for assistance.

Michael Allen, Oswego County E-911 Communications Director, and Don Forbes, Oswego County Fire Coordinator, said the stations will be manned until the issue is resolved.
