OSWEGO, NY – Physician assistant David Downey Jr., has joined the practice of Oswego Health cardiologist Thomas Grady Jr., MD.
Downey earned his physician assistant degree from Daemen College, located in Amherst and has been employed by the health system for most of his career.
“This new position offers new challenges and I like my interaction with patients and that I can focus on both patient care and education,” Downey said.
Along with Dr. Grady, he is seeing patients in suite 270 of the Oswego Health Services Center, as well as providing consults to Oswego Hospital patients and offering care to those who arrive in the hospital’s emergency department with cardiac issues.
Downey followed in his father’s footsteps in pursuing a career as a physician assistant.
His father served as a physician assistant in the U.S. Air Force and at Upstate University Hospital.
Downey joined the cardiology practice earlier this year.
“David is a very competent, knowledgeable and compassionate provider,” said Dr. Grady. “We work very well together, offering evidence-based treatments for all cardiac conditions and we also assist our patients make lifestyle changes that improve their overall health.”
Dr. Grady, who is a board-certified cardiologist joined the medical staff of Oswego Hospital in 2012, bringing his more than 14 years of expertise in caring for patients with heart-related issues to Oswego County residents.
He is an accomplished physician in his specialty and affiliated with SJH Cardiology Associates.
