OSWEGO – Welcomed to Oswego Health’s Lakeshore ENT practice is Physician Assistant Deidre Keenan, who has many years of experience providing high-level care.
Lakeshore ENT provides care to those with ear, nose or throat health issues.
Keenan is providing care alongside board-certified otolaryngologists Melanie Groch, DO, and Nicholas Groch, D.O.
Keenan arrives at the practice with more than 10 years of experience in treating those with asthma and allergies.
She is seeing patients for office visits and treating those with a variety of issues, including sinus infections, ear issues, allergies, hearing and dizziness concerns, as well as related illnesses.
Keenan also possesses well-rounded medical care experiences as she has previously delivered primary care services at area pediatric and family medicine practices.
Keenan was a college student at nearby Le Moyne College when she decided to pursue a career as a physician assistant, which was just gaining popularity in the 1980s as a field of study.
“At a friend’s suggestion, I shadowed a physician assistant in the emergency department and just loved it,” she said.
After completing her course work at Le Moyne, where she earned a bachelor’s degree, she would go on to earn a second bachelor’s degree and certification as a physician assistant at SUNY Stony Brook.
Keenan said she is enjoying providing care at Lakeshore ENT and getting to know the patients.
“I like the size of the hospital, the staff is fabulous and I love the patients,” she said.
She and her husband are empty-nesters with four grown children.
Keenan enjoys baking and running in her spare time.
