Piano Solo Recital to benefit Oswego Hospital Auxiliary

Oswego High School junior Nina Alcasid will present a solo piano recital at 3 p.m. on June 23 at The Church of the Resurrection, 120 W. Fifth St., Oswego.

The program is free and open to the public.

And, those who would like to, may donate to the Oswego Hospital Auxiliary.

Nina has been a private piano student of Marcia Pavel Sideris of The Sideris Piano Studio since she was six years old and recently received the All Star Piano Award at the Oneida Jazz Festival.

Nina is the pianist for the Oswego High School Jazz Band and also has studied dance and plays the oboe in the Oswego High School Wind Ensemble.

Academically, she ranks number one in her junior class and is a highest honor student.

She has been a member of the Top 25 honors students throughout high school, and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Her recital program will feature selections from the works of classical composers J.S. Bach, Chopin, Liszt, Brahms, Ravel, MacDowell, and Rachmaninoff.

Her plans upon graduation next year are to enter the medical field.

She is the daughter of Michael and Marie Castillo Alcasid, both hospitalists at Oswego Hospital.
