MINETTO – Students at Minetto Elementary School display the Pinwheel Garden they planted at their school.
In recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month students in all seven Oswego City School District schools helped to raise funds in support of the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County.
An initiative of Prevent Child Abuse America, the focus of the Pinwheels for Prevention program is to not only raise awareness of child abuse but more importantly, transform that awareness into action.
The school district’s Pinwheels for Prevention campaign raised more than $600 with each pinwheel in the garden representing at least five children that have received services from the CAC.
Located at 301 Beech St., Fulton, the CAC is a non-profit organization that works hand-in-hand with local law enforcement, prosecution, child protective services, medical providers, mental health providers, and victim advocacy professionals in Oswego County to protect and serve child victims of sexual and physical abuse.
