The cast of the upcoming Oswego Players’ production of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” is busy preparing the mystery drama for a Halloween opening night performance.
Under the direction of Troy Pepper, the play was adapted for the stage by Richard Abbott from the famous story by Robert Louis Stevenson.
This is Pepper’s ninth directorial endeavor with the Players.
Asked why he chose this play, Pepper replied, “I like doing something different. Whether it’s a drama, scary; just something that’s different. I like the intensity of making something as real as possible.”
From the first full-length play that he directed for the Oswego Players, “Blythe Spirit,” to “Frankenstein,” “Hound of the Baskervilles,” and “It’s A Wonderful Life” director Pepper has found a way to bring the extraordinary to life on the stage.
Included in the cast are Knathan MacKenzie-Roy as the title character, Scott Bandla, Jeremy Ware, Beverly Poznoski, Jenn Snow, Matthew Gordon, Kyle Walton, Stephanie Johnson, Joshua DeLorenzo and Julia Preston-Fulton.
“Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” will be presented on the stage of the Frances Marion Brown Theater in the Arts Center at Fort Ontario at 8 p.m. on Oct. 31, Nov. 1, 7 and 8 with a 2 p.m. matinee on Nov. 9.
For reservations, persons should call the Oswego Players’ box office at 343-5138.
