Players’ Season Opens With ‘Witness’

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Players will open their 74th season of presenting quality amateur productions to Oswego and its environs audiences with Agatha Christie’s “Witness for the Prosecution.”

Inez Manor Parker will direct.

“Witness” has been a staple over the years for community and professional theatre companies, and remains a favorite to this day.

Even if you’ve seen it before, the old saying, “no live theatre performance is the same,” holds true.

Casts and characterizations differ, as well as audience interpretation and reaction.

Parker is particularly adept at the murder mystery genre so audiences will be in for a real treat.

The large cast includes a number of familiar faces with long and impressive theatrical resumes, including: Sherri Baker, Nelson Metz, Marsha Preston, Zane Leo, Jacob Behr, Steve Standish and Bobby Fontana, along with Julia Preston Fulton, Chris Bixler, Jenny Show, Ed Lewis, Kelly Mahan, Knate Roy and Norman Berlin III.

Show dates are presently scheduled for 8 p.m. Feb. 24 and 25 and March 3 and 4.

 A matinee performance will be 2 p.m. March 5.

Ticket prices are $10/adults, $8/seniors and $7/students and will soon be available by calling the Players’ Box Office at 315-343-5138.
