Police ID Body Found In Lake

OSWEGO, NY – The identity of the body found in Lake Ontario on May 1, 2010 has been determined.

Oswego Police, working with the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Oswego County Sheriff’s Department, have determined the identity to be that of 61-year-old Robert E. Arden of County Route 57, Oswego.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Department had listed Mr. Arden as a missing person on April 2.

According to Police Chief Michael J. Dehm Jr., “Mr. Arden was positively identified through a fingerprint comparison. The investigation into the exact cause is still pending but, at this time, there is no evidence that suggests that Mr. Arden’s death was the result of foul play.”

  1. Mr. Arden was one of my early customers here at my business. He enjoyed music CD, as I recall. He lived in Europe for many years, and had some interesting stories to tell. Although I hadn’t seen him in many years, I remember an interesting individual, whom I am sure his friends and family will miss. I prayed he would be found in another way than this, although the missing person’s report indicated his own recent loss, and deep sorrow.

To his family, my condolences. And may God bless his soul, and may he find peace with his lost relative. So sorry for your loss.

  2. Robert was a great customer of ours. Always seemed cheerful and very pleasant to be around. His smiling face will be missed.
