OSWEGO, NY – Oswego Police, who have been investigating a serious injury to a two-year-old boy, have located the vehicle which allegedly struck the toddler on West Cayuga Street.
The two-year-old was struck and seriously injured shortly after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Police have identified the operator of the vehicle to be 21-year-old Rick C. Fernandes of Utica, NY.
Based upon the accident reconstruction and police investigation it was determined that the operator of the vehicle had turned into the driveway of 136 W. Cayuga St. striking the child who was located near the curb of the roadway in front of a parked vehicle.
The investigation has determined that the operator was not aware of striking the child at the time of occurrence, and was unable to see the child due to the childÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s positioning.
No tickets have been issued in the case.
The investigation is ongoing.
At this time, the child, Armondo Sciacca, is being listed in critical condition at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.
