OSWEGO, NY – On Wednesday, Oswego Police arrested Fareed Hosein, 24, of 12 W. Fourth St., Oswego, in connection with the Dec. 8 incident in which police responded to Buccaneer Boulevard, near Leighton Elementary and Oswego High schools.
Police received a report of a man with what appeared to be a gun; it was later determined to be a BB gun.
Hosein has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon on school grounds (Violation) and endangering the welfare of a child (Class A Ã¢â‚¬â€œ Misdemeanor).
The weapons charge relates to the possession by any person age 16 or older who knowingly possess any airgun, spring-gun or other instrument or weapon in which the propelling force is a spring, air, piston or CO2 cartridge in or upon a building or grounds, used for educational purposes, of any school, college or university.
Hosein was processed at the Oswego Police Department and released on an appearance ticket returnable to Oswego City Court on Jan. 14.
