Police: Man Charged After Search Warrant Results In Recovery Of Heroin


A search warrant executed on a vehicle occupied by Randy Frederick Ormsby, 57, of the town of Volney, lead to the discovery of ten envelopes of suspected heroin, according to the Oswego County Drug Task Force.

Ormsby has been charged in the Town of Volney Court with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third degree, class B Felony.

It is alleged that Ormsby possessed the heroin with the intent to sell it.

The search warrant was a result of a joint investigation conducted by the Oswego County Drug Task Force, the city of Fulton Police Department, and the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team.

The present charges merely represent an accusation that the defendant engaged in such conduct.  As a matter of law, defendant is presumed to be innocent of these charges.

Ormsby was arraigned by Hon. Judge Kerfien of the Town of Volney Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash $5,000 secure bail bond.

He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Volney Court on September 15 at 6 p.m.
