Aldi’s Robbery Suspect Caught

Since the release of the original information, Oswego Police received numerous tips and information from citizens regarding the identity of the suspect.
The suspect, 28-year-old Steven M. Haynes of 2030 County Route 1 Oswego, is accused of
entering the Aldi’s store on November 5 and stealing more than $700 in cash from one of the
Mr. Haynes was charged with one count of Petit Larceny and is due to reappear in Oswego City Court on November 29.

OSWEGO, NY – On Sunday at about 11:14 a.m. Oswego Police responded to Aldi’s, 290 State Route 104, Oswego, regarding a male that had just stolen an undisclosed amount of cash from their register and fled the store.
Investigators were later notified that a male subject fitting the description of the suspect from Aldi’s, had entered the nearby Rite Aid store.
While remaining in the store’s restroom, and prior to police being notified, the subject changed clothing and left the area on foot.

The subject is described as follows: A white man, approximately 6 feet tall, average build, short dark hair, wearing at the time of the crime: tan corduroy coat, multi-colored knit hat with tassels.
He was last seen wearing: grey T-shirt and dark pants.
