Polka Dance Features Klocek and the Salt City Brass

FULTON – The Spring Fling Polka Dance at the Fulton Polish Home on May 20 will feature Jasiu Klocek and the Salt City Brass from 3 to 7 p.m.

Jasiu Klocek and the Salt City Brass define Polish Music for many Central New Yorkers.

Klocek started playing the accordion at the age of 7 and formed his first band in 1969.

By the mid ’70s, the band officially became the Salt City Brass and began touring beyond Central New York.

Its music is a mix of traditional Polish favorites and original songs by Klocek.

Songs in the bands repertoire include The Green Grass Polka, Pukaj Jasiu Polka, Hey Cavalier Polka, The Mother Waltz, Wishing Well Polka, Hu La La Polka, Helena Polka and the always popular La Di Da Oberek.

In addition to the Salt City Brass, the dance will include a limited Polish and American food menu and Polka dancing.

The dance will be held at the Fulton Polish Home located at 153 W. First St. S., from 3 to 7 p.m. and there is no admission to the dance.

Proceeds will be designated to the Polish Home Building Fund.
