OSWEGO — Port City Roller Derby teams up with the Oswego County Humane Society to help some furry friends at their Naughty-Cal Catastrophe bout on Saturday in Crisafulli Rink.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. whistle for the third home bout in the league’s third season.
The Oswego County Humane Society, who will receive a portion of the bout’s proceeds, asks attendees to bring dry kitten food to help meet a pressing need they see. Those who donate kitten food at the door will enter a drawing to win tickets to PCRD’s Aug. 17 bout.
Sporting a 4-2 record for the season, Port City Roller Derby will field two teams at Saturday’s bout to scrap — perhaps like cats and dogs — for glory, bragging rights and crowd appreciation.
Advance tickets cost $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 5 to 12, with children 4 and under admitted free.
Tickets can be purchased at the door but will cost $12 for adults. Advance tickets are available online at portcityrollerderby.org or from any PCRD league member.
Attendees interested in trackside seating are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
Port City Roller Derby is produced by Oz Roller Girls Inc., a member-run nonprofit organization dedicated to athletic competition, empowerment and supporting its community.
PCRD always seeks skaters, refs and other volunteers for its adult (18 and over) and juniors (ages 10 to 17) teams, and will provide training. For more information, visit www.portcityrollerderby.org or email [email protected]
