OSWEGO — Port City Roller Derby, sporting a four-game winning streak, will look to keep the momentum rolling at its next home bout, Aug. 17, against the Black Diamond Dames’ Dolls of Destruction in Oswego’s Crisafulli Rink.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. whistle for the fourth home bout in the league’s third season.
In its most recent competition, Port City’s Breakwall Bombshells traveled to Canada for a 245-160 win over a Kingston Derby Girls Disloyalists squad ranked in the top 40 Canadian Travel/B teams.
Port City has never faced the Dolls of Destruction, comprised of skaters from Northern Pennsylvania and New York’s Southern Tier.
A portion of proceeds will support the Stuff A Bus program that helps children in Oswego County who need school supplies.
Attendees are encouraged to bring new school supplies as well to bolster the effort.
Advance tickets, available from any league member, cost $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 5 to 12, with children 4 and under admitted free.
Tickets can be purchased at the door but will cost $12 for adults.
Attendees interested in trackside seating are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
Port City Roller Derby is produced by Oz Roller Girls Inc., a member-run nonprofit organization dedicated to athletic competition, empowerment and supporting its community.
PCRD always seeks skaters, refs and other volunteers for its adult (18 and over) and juniors (ages 10 to 17) teams and will provide training.
