OSWEGO — Two teams of Port City Roller Derby skaters will battle for pride, bragging rights and crowd support during their Naughty-Cal Catastrophe bout on July 20 in Crisafulli Rink.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. whistle for the third home bout in the league’s third season.
Port City entered early July with a 3-2 record on the season after consecutive wins over Enchanted Mountain Roller Derby, the Albany All-Stars and the Parlor City Tricks, but for this bout they will focus instead on boosting or blocking skaters from their own league.
Advance tickets cost $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 5 to 12, with children 4 and under admitted free.
Tickets can be purchased at the door but will cost $12 for adults.
Advance tickets are available online at portcityrollerderby.org or from any PCRD league member.
Attendees interested in trackside seating are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
A portion of the proceeds will support the Oswego County Humane Society, which asks attendees to consider bringing dry kitten food due to a large need they see.
Port City Roller Derby is produced by Oz Roller Girls Inc., a member-run nonprofit organization dedicated to athletic competition, empowerment and supporting its community.
PCRD always seeks skaters, refs and other volunteers for its adult (18 and over) and juniors (ages 10 to 17) teams, and will provide training.
